Capstone Week 7 (Starting Feb 11)

This week I completed the remaining studying and video information for the AWS Cloud practitioner exam! I have a busy schedule at the moment so I am still needing to find a time to take the exam. In the meantime I started the Fast.ai course and have made great progressing finishing Part 1.  There was a good video for each "chapter" and also plenty of notebooks and Kaggle datasets and examples to help walk through the information and really cement what it is. This section focuses on learning deep learning by actually building models. I trained image classifiers using transfer learning, explored how to fine tune pre trained models, and worked directly with the fastai and PyTorch libraries. Some of the first videos were review of what I have learned in my Intro to Data Science course but still helpful to review it as it really sticks in my brain. Looking forward to part 2 and also taking my certification when I have time.

Capstone Week 6 (Starting February 4)

This week I finished the exam prep video I started last week and learned a lot more about AWS. From Storage, databases, networking, EC2, billing and security, I feel confident in what I learned and ability to apply the knowledge to the exam. The course did not cover too many test questions; however, I will find practice exams and questions to test my knowledge and prepare me more.  I think I will use next week to study exam questions, test myself, and if I am ready, take the certification.

Capstone Week 5 (Starting January 28)

This week I began preparing for the AWS Cloud Practitioner Exam. I have gone the free route to prepare for the exam as I am confident in my skills and ability to learn the material. It also allows me flexibility so I do not have to be locked down to watch courses. The video I have chosen is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhDYbskXRgc and covers every topic on the exam. I started and watched the first 5 hours learning about infrastructure, cloud architecture, management and development, and more.  Some of this is familiar as we learned it in past semesters, but nonetheless a good refresher and start to the exam prep!

Capstone Week 4

This week I wrote the outline to my certificate proposal. All procedures, certifications, timelines, risks, and everything needed to complete my capstone is there ready to get started and planned out.  Link:  Alexander Zambie Proposal
